Families

Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities throughout the UK.

The main focus of Home-Start is to offer volunteer support to families in their own homes. By doing so Home-Start respects each family's dignity and identity and can respond to individual needs, working together to build confidence, strengthen relationships and have fun for the ultimate benefit of the children.

The Unique Ethos and Approach

Home-Start offers support where it is needed in a way that parents find helpful. The relationship between the Home-Start volunteer and the family is established by choice. It is not influenced by power or money.

Recently we have provided various training activities including Pampering for Mums, Sexual Health, Disability (Autism), Drug Awareness, Healthy Eating, Equality and Diversity, Alcohol Addiction, First Aid for Children and a 6 week course in Handling Children's Behaviour
